Kilkami
In the days of the True Kings, Ellor, Ethane, and Jerdal, there was a father, King Mailiv, who sought to teach his young son the lessons of Command and Strategy. The land needed a strong ruler, and the King was getting old. His throne would soon become a thing of power to be protested by his seven sons, and only the one, not the elder, was seen as fit to bear the burden the crown delivers. He wished to prepare his youngest for the struggle to come taking and holding the throne. To this end, he developed a test whereby teams did combat. To the victor went the spoils. And the lessons would last a lifetime.
The throne was succeeded as the King passed away, and through some struggle, and much controversy, the youngest did take the crown. His brother, the eldest was accused of his father's murder, and a heavy curse was laid upon him. That Prince would never know a peaceful day again. The throne did find its rightful, capable ruler with the youngest, and the greater peace continued in his line.
That original, live version of Kilkami that taught the youngest prince what he did so need when the time came was adapted after a time as a tool for all to use to learn necessary command and skills training, and it spread to the masses, ultimately to the world. The board-based version played today follows the original spirit of the game once played live and continues the rich tradition started generations gone.
